Goals of the Language Resource Workshop: To assess the need for language
resources, identify areas in which language resources are vital,
review current efforts, and propose new initiatives and models in language
resource collections to meet the need of the research community.
LRW '97 - Language Resources Workshop
On August 16, 1997, the Language Resources Workshop was held at
Skamania Lodge
in Stevenson, Washington, 50 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon.
This workshop brought together about thirty invited guests
representing academia, the private sector, and government for
a look at current language resources and future requirements
to support research needs.
