OVERVIEW

Welcome to the Home Page for WICCS '97, the NSF Workshop on International Collaboration in Computer Science, which was held October 9-11 at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington, 50 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon, in the Columbia Gorge. The organizers were Ron Cole of the CSLU at OGI and José Fortes of the ECE at Purdue.

Report of NSF-sponsored workshop PDF Print E-mail
The report of an NSF-sponsored workshop entitled International Collaboration in Computer Science is now available. The workshop report concludes that international collaboration is a necessary paradigm for advancing science and technology, and solving global problems. The report proposes several new models to stimulate and support international collaboration, including formation of an International Science Foundation, establing a new NSF division focused on international collaboration within CISE, formation of international Super Centers to address global problems, and expanded joint research programs in developing countries.
