Margaret G. McKeown is a Senior Scientist at University of Pittsburgh’s Learning Research and Development Center . Her work covers the areas of learning, instruction, and teacher professional development in reading comprehension and vocabulary. She is the co-developer, with Isabel Beck, of Questioning the Author and robust vocabulary instruction. Her research has been published extensively in outlets for both research and practitioner audiences. Before her career in research, she taught reading and language arts in elementary school.

Jennifer Borum has been working on the project since the
fall of 2007. She is a licensed teacher with Boulder Vallyer School District and has been teaching
elementary science and developing science education curriculum for more than 20
years. In addition to teaching in traditional classrooms, Jennifer has also
developed science programs at Sea World, the Denver Zoo, and the Denver Museum
of Nature and Science. She has worked with the City of Boulder Open Space
Department as the Education and Outreach Coordinator and was the Interpretive
Naturalist with Jefferson County Open Space where she helped design the Lookout
Mountain Nature Center.
Jennifer works as the Project Liaison, recruiting schools,
scheduling tutoring sessions and collecting data for the project. She also
manages the staff of terrific tutors.
In her spare time, Jennifer likes to read, be outside
skiing, swimming, camping and hiking with her husband and their son, and she
sings with a local community choir.
